It will be 11days trip. All we want is to get fresh snowfall. As per our discussion, I have made a rough travel plan. Kindly go through it and suggest.

Day 1 = reach delhi airport by 12 pm and heading to haridwar by local cab
Day 2 = stay at haridwar
Day 3 = stay at haridwar
Day 4 = heading to nainital by cab
Day 5 = staying at nainital, visiting Ranikhet
Day 6 = heading to almora
Day 7 = staying at Almora, visiting kousani
Day 8 = heading to chaukori
Day 9 = stay at chaukori
Day 9 = heading to munsiyari
Day 10 = staying at munsiyari
Day 11 = heading to delhi

Assuming that you want to go to haridwar definitely and thats why you are not following joydtraveller's suggestion, have you considered going directly to Dehradun from Mumbai (unless your tickets are already booked). It usually works out cheaper and takes less time and is convenient than taking a cab from delhi.

Even then three days in Haridwar is a stretch, considering that there will be no snow there and you can visit most of the temples in a day and enjoy the Ganga aarti as well.
So then we are left with a situation where you shall be going to Haridwar for only a day and a half. And then leave for Nainital.
Or else you skip Haridwar this time - go to Kumaon directly from Delhi and keep Haridwar for when you plan Garhwal region.

Moonmoon,

for a better plan, you need to first answer the questions that are being asked by the travellers here.

Haridwar is the major entry point for Garhwal (which includes Auli, the Char dhams, Lansdowne etc. etc.). Lalkuan/Kathgodam serves as the major entry point for Kumaon (which includes places like Nainital, Kaushani, Munsiyari etc. etc.). Of course, there are places through which you can traverse these regions (e.g. Gwaldam). Both these regions have awesome places to visit and many of these places receive a lot of snowfall. So, you need to prioritize. If you must go to Haridwar, i would suggest to stick to Garhwal, as that will be more convenient (if you have not already visited ALL the places there).

Once you decide upon which region you want to explore, you will receive hundreds of suggestions and itineraries on this forum. You can search with the name of the places and find out more. And if you still have queries, you can ask them here.

She has decided Kumaon and has put in a rough plan above.

Do agree with option of trying Garhwal if Haridwar is fixed.

Snotty, thanks for getting my point. But my baby is 3 years old only. Journeying kumayun will be more comfortable for her. Haridwar is a necessity as I told you earlier.

Your return tickets booked as well, right? (If not, again option of going back to Mumbai directly from Dehradun Airport.)
Then go to Haridwar first and then go to Kumaon. Finish at Nainital and take train back to Delhi.
(You can definitely do it the other way, there is a train from Nainital to Haridwar as well, though not as frequent.)

I think the same facilities will be available in Garhwal as in Kumaon in case you are concerned about your three year old.
My suggestion would be to stick to Garhwal.

Would the puja take 3 days? If no move on to Rishikesh after the puja. There are places like Mussorrie, Dhanaulti etc in Garhwal region where there is a possibility of snow fall.

Read Trip Report: Garhwal as an example of what could be done in Garhwal. Similarly search for other reports in this forum for places in Garhwal.

What I or we would like to see might not help since I / we are not you. You would need to do some research and short list places which looks interesting to you. After that we can help you make a plan.

You could consider Chopta, adventurous stay in tent at Deriotal, Auli and more in one part of Garhwal after Rishikesh.
Or Dehradun, Mussorrie, Dhanaulti, Chakrata and more in the other part.
