Postpone your trip. July is the worst time to visit... rains, landslides will make travelling very difficult. September is the best time.

September can be just as bad if the monsoon is heavy. Go when it suits you best. Ideal is October though.

Second Dilliwala's observation about trip to Badri Kedar, the fag end of the season is the best time to go. October gets my vote too.

Pls note that while September for long has been considered the best time to visit Uttarakhand ,climatic patterns have changed very fast. In the last two years pretty haeavy rains have been seen in all parts of Uttrakhand even in late sept. So Oct seems to be a good bet.

Support Dilliwala's view. October or May is the best ( & probably the most crowded ) time to go there.
Last year I went to Kedar on 29/06/08 , Got rain on the way to Kedar ( not heavy, but slowly) but the greenery which we saw on the way to Keadrnath perhaps you will not get it in October was splendid. Went to Badrinath on 01/07/08. Didn't get a single drop of rain after Ukhimoth. Try to go from Kedar to Badri via Chopta route & choose any time except mid July to End September ( Rest is your luck factor & the most important factor) |

Thanks very much for the info. What about a trip in early JULY? Does it rain too heavily that time?
