I intend to visit Corbett National Park during the 1st week October, with my family.
Please let me know the convenient options to travel from Delhi to Corbett Park are there any direct means of transport, if so, what is the approximate time taken?

I intend to stay at the Corbett Resorts for day or two...Do let me know if there're other better Resort options?

I need the contact details of a good tour operator company that can help me for booking. If anyone had any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

As per my knowledge, Jim Corbett Park is not taking any booking for accommodation inside the park for the upcoming season due to the continuing ban on tiger tourism.

If any private resort is guaranteeing tiger safari starting this October then they are not providing the correct information.

Just returned from 2 days trip from Garjia ( Ramnagar). Stay at The Corbett Hide away. People who are visiting their normally spend whole time in resort only on the bank of Kosi. The wild safari is ban and even if it is not ban or ban is lifted by court, season start from mid November only.
We go via road and it will take 6-7 hours based upon time taken to cross Ghaziabad. Road condition is very good.
By train you can go up to Ramnagar. Their is a direct train from Delhi via Moradabad, Kashipur.

I am just a little curious as to why those website URL's, are at the base of your original posting ?

Does the name Mahiraj Singh ring any bells ?
because all the websites are registered to him

Could that just be a coincidence ?

Smile

The inner (core) area of the park opens on 15th November every year. Though this time it is not certain as SC has put a ban on safaris in core areas of all national parks.. Only access to buffer area is allowed. For further details, you can also contact the Uttaranchal Tourism office in Delhi. Details are given below: -

Uttaranchal Tourism
Indraprakash Building
Barakhamba Road
New Delhi - 110001
Tel. +91-11-23319835

They also do booking from Delhi when the park is open. Outside the park, there are numerous resorts on the bank of Kosi river. But i dont think there is any point going to these resorts when the park is actually closed.

If I wanted to go to Corbett, I would not ask anyone in Delhi for info !
I would go to someone in Corbett.

"The inner core" is never accessible to anyone.
Some areas like Dhikala Forest lodge, are verging on the inner core, and as a result, may just be out of bounds in future, but I would'nt bet on it.

The buffer zone of Corbett is still a very peaceful, and beautiful place.

No one is betting on the reopening or closing of areas like dhikala (which are obviously not in "inner core" zone).. I have done forest house bookings both from delhi & ramnagar.. not much difference.. its just that u get on spot bookings in ramnagar but not from delhi.. & here I am talking about a tourism dept. govt. office. so one have to believe them in any ways.. much better than believing in a lot of misguiding resort people from Ramnagar.. claiming for a forest safari in jim corbett and then taking you to buffer areas..
The buffer zone and surrounding areas are no doubt beautiful but it depends on what one is one looking for..
PEACE!!!!!
