In Rishikesh, would like to see some mountains.

If you were in Rishikesh today and had one place you could go, would you go to the Valley of Flowers, Dharamsala, Gangotri, or Kinnaur (sangla valley or maybe not that far)? And why?

This is my dilemma, I would like to see mountains and snow and lush greenery, or just something i've never really seen before. These young Himalayas are not something I've ever seen and so I don't know what to expect. THanks for any feedback.

Of yeah, and if the Ganges has dropped about 1 meter in depth over the past 24 hours, is that a good indication that there is less rain in the mountains?

It appears you are already in Rishikesh .

I will opt for Valley of Flowers -(i) Nearest place from Rishikesh from all other places you mentioned, (ii) this is the flowering season, (iii) you can see good greenery, high mountains, waterfalls, forests and a couple of snow bridges on the way to VOF from Ghangria.

The water level in Ganges can drop for many reasons - slow pace of snow melting, low intensity of rains, lower release of water from dams such as at Maneri and receding glaciers.

Thanks!

They both sound like good options! Maybe I can do both. Those photos look spectacular. And yes I am in Rishikesh.
