Hiking in Kumaon
Hi, I am wondering if you can help. I wanted to get a hold of good maps with hiking trails and would appreciate it if you could point me to where I can acquire such maps. Also, any advice on good day hikes in the Almora/Ranikhet area would be much appreciated.

Coming next week, so will check out the tourism office. I have not been able to find proper topographic maps and was wondering where those might be available.

1) Its Paudhar not Pandhar... You can do Muktshwar to Almora, which can be done in 5-6 hours with ease... |

Almora-->Lamgara-->Shaharphatak-->Mornaula-->Devidhura-->Khetikhan-->Lohaghat-->Champawat.. Champawat-->Lohaghat-->Ghat-->Pithoragarh and then back to Almora via Danya on the same day... |

Well ! I have done a little reasearch and the result is that Paudhar or Pandhar is same place....the original name is prononuced like paanv dhar (keep feet), so it can be written as Pandhar or Paudhar both ways........
No offences meant......... I am awaiting DW senior's comment ! |
