Ah, understandable. Any news from Rajivkumars findings? CCTV footage should be able to be pulled.

Re Lariam.

I took that drug in 1998 against malaria. I took it in Amritsar while staying at the Golden Temple. I was warned the Sikhs didn't like drugs of any kind on site so I took it in my hotel. I blacked out for the best part of six hours. Six or seven hours later I'd turned up at another hotels reception, making no sense at all, convinced I was staying there. The six hours I was on the streets I have no idea what I did where I went. Scared me to death. Just chanced the malaria after that.

It's 4 yrs today since Jonathon disappeared. Here's a post his mother Lynda just put on Facebook.

Just now, 4 years ago I was chatting to Jonathan, my son, my best friend. Please, spare a second to share our poster asking for information about his whereabouts or what happened to him then.

Our last conversation was just about his last trek before he was heading for home, perhaps taking in a week or so by the sea, before getting to Ireland mid-March. He was excited and sure our dog, who we adopted the last time he was home, would recognise him instantly, because they had 'bonded'!! (I had his jumpers and socks piled into Lucy's bed so she could never forget his scent!) He was also looking forward to seeing me and as many friends as were here at the time! We made plans..... can they still happen sometime? Is there hope? While there isn't certainty there must be hope, I think, I hope.

Being a realist, I am basing my hopes on the knowledge that many travel to this region, not every year, but as often as possible, to follow the pilgrim routes. Perhaps those returning after 4 years may see our posters / FB posts etc. and just one person among them, may recognise Jonathan and provide that tiny piece of information, that will lead us to him and whatever follows.

I hope to have new posters, with age progressed photos, shortly. I'll be asking you to share those also. As always, thank you for such wonderful support. This will be our year.

Here's a message from Jonathon's mum Lynda just posted on FB;

Jonathan Spollen, age 33 today, we hope.

In the absence of any clue that is what we have. Hope.

Apart from the obvious one, that I pinch myself and this is all a nightmare, my more realistic hope is that now, after more than 4 years, anyone who knows anything will share that piece of information with me. It doesn't matter how tiny or insignificant it may seem or how hugely important it is. I don't mind that we haven't been told before. I simply need to know everything now.

The one thing we are certain of is that, if he were able, he would have made contact as planned, as he always did, often. What prevented him / is preventing him?

To find Jonathan and resolve the painful mystery of his disappearance would be a gift.

Love you Jonathan and I'll find you!!
xxx Mum

PLEASE SHARE with these age progressed photos - he may look more like this by now. New posters to follow shortly. Lynda

It's 5 yrs today since Jonathon disappeared. Here's a post his mother Lynda just put on Facebook.

Just now 5 years ago we had our last conversation. Each year since I have written something similar to this. Each year you have stayed with our search, sharing posts, ideas, contacts, everything you can think of.

I don't have adequate words to describe how much this means to me, especially after so much time has lapsed. So so long. Thank you for sticking with me.

While there is nothing of any consequence to report, the search is very much alive and hoping for any piece of information about Jonathan - what has happened to him, anything at all to add to the comprehensive but still incomplete Timeline - the vital period is between 3rd Feb 2012 and 21st Feb 2012, the date his visa expired.

While I know nothing to the contrary, I have hope that he just may be OK. While I don't know, the search continues based on that hope. So please share the poster again, asking your friends to do the same. It might just reach someone who has a clue for me.

It's still hard to believe this is our reality. Love him so much.

I have thought often about this page and the tragedy described on it. It has been five years, five years of hope, increasingly against the odds as time goes by.

I remember having seen the posters in Rishikesh and talked about it with some local people, back in 2012, then I came back regularly to read if there were updates.

I wish strength to the family and hope that things might come to a resolution, hopefully a happy one, in spite of everything.

A huge amount of respect for kullukid who has been actively following this and helps out where possible.

I just read through this entire thread again- the only one I am subscribed to.

If J's family reads this thread, I am still around to make phone calls and follow up if needed.

We just are helpless spectators and the agony of the mother gnaws my heart whenever I click this thread to see whether there is any news. I can just tell the Ma that we share her anxiety and grief; what else can one say!
