Hello Kookykooky53. Is that your facebook page? Could you update it with the contact details given in the first post of this thread such as David's mobile phone number in India.

Thanks

[B] If we accept that what Jonathan said to me was the truth, and there is absolutely no reason to doubt him as he is a very straightforward person, he set out on a 2 - 3 week trek.

Here's a list of major treks in Garhwal region, there aren't many that take 3wks & they wouldn't be possible this time of year due to snow; http://www.trekkingingarhwal.com/

Some good news at last!
I put David in touch with an American guy i know in Rishikesh, here's a message he just sent me a few seconds ago.

"Magic happens. Just met with David on my Balcony and wrote down Johnathan's name to pray for him. We had a deep talk and just then the phone rang from a guy in Dharmsala who had seen Johnathan 10 days ago
He's off to Dharmsala"

Slow down folks, some of us have been here before, it could be a false alarm. Fingers crossed and all but wait until the final result is in before celebrating.

KK did the guy speak to Johnathan or just "see" him?

Hi CD, are you in Mcleod right now? It would be good if you or another IMer could meet David in MG to help him find his way around, (maybe you could call David to arrange??) with a little luck Jonathon will be attending HHDL's teaching on 8th, i've sent David a message explaining he needs to register at the Tibet office with his passport & 2 photo's to attend.KK

Maybe you could search out travel websites frequented by Israeli travellers? There is one in particular they all use but I can't remember the name of it. Ive messaged my Israeli friend to tell me it, il post it as soon as I know. Then you could get some information on their sites too. Seeing as there are MANY Israeli backpackers in Northern India it can only help.

After reading the thread and communicating with David from our temporary home-base in Dharamsala we put up some posters in McLeod Ganj (from the first page of this site). The call that David received from McLeod Ganj was probably in response to these posters. Unfortunately the man who phoned has not been able to provide any specific or clear information and may not be genuine.
Lynda, my direct email to you about this bounced back (I used the email from the posters). Maybe you could email me directly (you have my email) and then the posters can be corrected if need be.
Regards,
Tom and Tanya

Hi Tom and Tanya

Thankyou for putting up those posters! And you're right to remind us that the call might not have been genuine and not to start celebrating too soon.

I see there are two different email addresses for Lynda in the first post of this thread and on the posters: lyndaspollen@hotmail.com and lyndaspollen@eircom.ie
Which one of these bounced back?

I've also just noticed that in the Hindi poster the cursor is there and makes it appear as .iel
Could this be the problem?

David and Lynda, if you need us to correct any of the contact information in the posters could you please post it here too so we can make the necessary adjustments.

The non use of his mobile phone is still a concern in my mind. He was in constant communication with his Mom until the first of last month. Then total silence. Also his visa has now expired. I'm not convinced these two facts are conducive with him being in any urban center.

If he was on a trek &/or became ill that might explain his non communication, however even if had lost his phone & was in Dharamsala(proper) or the like wouldn't he have used an ISTD or borrowed somebody's communications device by now?

It appears that he was 'very' responsible with communications up until February 3rd .....
