PKanti, all the relevant posters and flyers and stuff are in post #1 of this very same thread. Please download and print out a bunch of them and just distribute them and put them up in places you think are relevant (hotels, cafes, restaurants, popular chai shops and barbers, bus and taxi stands, etc.) as you go along In doing so, you will be doing your own little bit of help.

That's a great offer PKanti, thankyou! As Mach said, the posters are in the first post of this thread. You will see a Hebrew poster there but that's really meant just for those hotels where Israeli travellers gather and not so important.

The English and especially Hindi posters are the important ones.

This point advocated for some time; as far as our contact at reputable RedChilli Adventure (right there at Tapovan top of LJ road) being willing to supply (from Apr. 15th) an experienced local 'guide' (obviously a Hindi speaker and possibly with Garhwali support). To go on up the waterfall path (where J's belongings were found) and recce the trail that goes to more remote country, and also towards Neelkanth - let's say a week's circuit.

Naturally there are conditions involved in it, but surely nothing that cannot be arranged.

I'm sure you are very reluctant to give us any details on this until you have "irrefutable evidence" since history on this thread shows it would lead to much speculation,but once you've looked further into these reports it may be wise to give us as much detail as possible on these sightings even if you are only 50% sure,since as you've stated earlier in the thread there could be something in the reports that some of us pick up on which wouldn't mean anything to yourself.
I know earlier possible sightings were mentioned way back in the Joshimath/Chopta area's,i'm sure you are aware by now that a pattern is emerging,which might suggest J decided to walk the Char Dham Yatra Chopta-Joshimath-Badrinath do suggest this is a possibility.KK

Well if you have the time & it's not too much trouble for you,maybe you could check out this Baba's small ashram,it's very close to the Badri Temple;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrL6W6RC-zs
If J is on a Spiritual quest,which is very likely if he is in Badri,then i think this is the kind of place he would be looking to visit & also the kind of place he could stay without money.
Here's a map of the ashram in relation to the Temple;

In Haridwar the main backpacker street is Jessa Ram Road.it's 5mins walk from train & bus stations, turn right at the roundabout,it's just 1 small street with budget hotels & cafes,I would hope that J's family have covered this street by now??

Rudraprayag, Gaurikund & Kedar are very small places that travellers won't hang about in for more than a few days,so no real traveller hangouts as such,but once you are there it will be obvious where to leave posters.KK

This is going in circles.

I second your suggestions about possible left luggage in Haridwar, the need for a check whether he had left the area by public transport/taxi and a search of important Delhi hospitals, though.

This may seem like an odd question but here goes:
Is there any way that Jonathan might be a member of IndiaMike himself?

Vee,

With all due respect to you and your post, and I'm all for bantering between friends, but I don't think Jonathan's parents would like sifting through a thread where there's bickering. Would you, if you were in their shoes?

I am sorry if I was too blunt.
