Dear all,
Just wondering if any one here could suggest me any possible mode of public communication from Haridwar to Gaurikund on the sae day I reach Haridwar. Acutually,I am reaching Haridwar at 4:30 am, but since would some time to get fresh in a hotel cannot take a bus immediately which I am told is at 5 am [not sure of this though]. And also, since I have a lot of things to see in the trip, I don't want to waste a day being in Haridwar at the very beginning. So,I would like to reach Gaurikund that day itself, if not then at least cover some distance the very first day so that we can continue the trek to Kedarnath the very next day. 1] So, can I board a bus for Gaurikund from Hairdwar at 9-10am ? 2] If not, which is the farthest I can reach on that route by boarding a bus around that time the very first day. Please do reply as soon as possible as I am about to leave tomorrow evening, if ever you happen to know the public transport facility of that city well. As of now,the Bus stand enquiry Number [01334-227037]is not responding to any phone calls. ![]() |

It is possible to reach Gaurikund in a day, but it is not comfortable and not sure too. It will be a 11-12 hour journey and buses leave Haridwar/Rishikesh very early in the morning. It will be better if yoou take a break probably at Guptakashi and next day you will be at Kedarnath.

Thats why I mentioned it sir. I like that place and the temple not to mention. Beautiful really. If I have to give an extra day then why not get something extra. Rurdaprayag, good place to break but too congested. Even by shared jeep it is possible to reach Guptakashi if started early from Haridwar/Rishikesh. |

But,even if one takes a shared jeep, how long can one afford to wait in Haridwar before taking that jeep to Guptakashi? And where from does one get those shared jeep in Haridwar ? Near the bus stand which is just opposite to the railway station? |
