Can anyone tell me if it rains in Kedar-Badri in August/Sept?..also please let me know if we can get snow during this period :-)

need ur help in plannig a trip for Haridwar-kedarnath-Badrinath-gangotri-Gomukh. actly we three will be travelling in september,2008. Does it rain that time in these areas?...what is the best time to visit all these places?..actly my Mom will be travelling with us. we will have 8 days leave. Can anybody suggest me an itenerary for these?

We will be reaching Delhi around 10:00 PM, and next day our train from New Delhi Station is at 6:30 AM. Can you please suggest a decent(I mean clean and healthy) hotel near the Railway station for that night only?

When you say 8 days you mean from hydrabad or from haridwar.
Any how i feel it will be difficult. October first week will be the right season.

Hi Kumar,

basically we 3 will be travelling from Hyderabad to delhi by Flight.Other 2 will be reaching haridwar directly from Calcutta.
I am actually planning to hire a vehicle for the trip cause my inlaws and my mom will be travelling with us. So can't be stingy ...
what do u suggest should I take it from Delhi or Haridwar..also inform me about their rates and if u have some contact post that too as well.
I will be starting from Delhi on a saturday and by the nest sunday afternoon I should be back to Delhi so that I can take the evening flight to hyderabad on Sunday. Please suggest me itenerary and some decent stay out for the whole trip..I was xploring thru GMVN...it seems they are not operating most of their tourist bunglows in september, in that case where should I stay..I prefer to have Clean bathrooms and Bedsheets, warm Water and an excellent view outside..possibly avoiding the crowds.

Hi,
I think it may not be possible to travel to all these places you have mentioned.I think you must start your jouney from haridwar.
Day 1- saturday- Arrive at haridwar and visit chandi devi, manasa devi temple, holy bath and evening arathi.
Day 2- sunday - Dept haridwar 6 am arrive at gangotri 6pm
( 270 kms app)
Day 3 - Monday - Visit temple and leave gangotri after lunch, arrive at uttarkashi in the evening.
Day 4 - Tuedsay - Leave uttarkashi early morning, on the way visit tehri, have lunch at srinagar, visit rudraprayag and arrrive at chandrpuri/rampur by evening.
Day -5 - Wednesday - Early morning have bath at gaurikund and start you journey to kedarnath(14kms trek), visit temple and rest,
Day 6 - Thursday - Leave kedarnath after darshan and arrive at gaurikund and arrive at ukhimath early evening.
Dayn 7 - Friday - Leave ukhimath in the morning and arrive at badrinath by evening. visit temple.
Day 8 - Saturday - Leave badrinath early monring and proceed towards haridwar.You might reach haridwar late night.
Day 9 - Sunday - Leave haridwar and reach delhi to catch your
your flight.
You can accomodate gaumukh into this trip provided you finish your kedarnath visit in one single day.
Try radheshyam group of hotels or indoganga holidays for your car and hotel bookings.

I think you must drop Gomukh unless you are able to add 2-3 days.
