Nothing much happened to the generation. I guess he had three or four sons who migrated. One seemed to be a good for nothing and stayed back, making everyone's life difficult.

Though people say that the ghost of wilson still roams around, just in case you may want to visit him
Sometimes, the joy that the Daybreak brings, is unparalleled!

Certainly no dynasty at Harshil. Even the apple trees around can be counted on, well, fingers and toes. As far as I recall, he retired to Blighty with his fortune (don't take my word for it). I can't recall if there was any issue, but if there was probably went to Blighty too.
There are a coupla good books written on him, easiest found in Dehradun and Mussoorie.

Is there a dynasty of Anglo-Indian Wilson loggers and apple-growers still in the area? Or what happened?

yes. you are right. He was the first and only known human being to have made fortune by killing animals and chopping trees down in Himalayan range. NO reported incident either before or after .. till today. He robed livelihood of local people there by doing so...

there are lots of story circulated in local region about what you have said and there is nothing good as such... one of his son was killed by the villagers in Harsil itself. other fled..
and yess his soul is not at peace and roams on a white horse at old wilson bridge many have seen it, so now that bridge is closed and a new built

wel thats the personal life of Willson which are are not suppose to discuss in this thread...
Harshil... wow what a beautiful place... i love it...

It was just one of the most important aspects of his life which I mentioned, can't see why this would irritate you this much!

OR is this blabbering a result of head injury you got when banged on the head by a bear, carrying wooden stick, sent on a secret mission by some a gathering of snakes and leopards to achieve some sinister motives?

I think, with your kind permission guys, we better not to discuss Wilson as a human, but his impact on today's Harsil

It can be easily trace the inhabitants, Bhutias, Tibetans, of this place. They are different from Garhwalis. They may consider the real inhabitants of this place. And there are few Jadhs villages on the surrounding hills since the ages. The forefathers of them settled here centuries ago; but yet their accent sounds sweet Tibetan.

Anil was a local lad, invited me & my wife to his Gaon (village), Kachora, almost 3km way from Harsil. The kilometers I've mentioned here, I dont think its genuine; actually we have to move through unmarked & unconventional path through dense forest of pine, deodar, oak. As the real path is through a military base camp, except locals, no outsider can access it. Later; Anil said its around 1km from Harsil to their village.

Top West side view of Harsil. One can easily locate the superb location of GMVN on Bhagirathi

on the way to Kachora

The Pine Tree........we took some rest under it

after 3hrs, we entered another forest, the apple-forest, the forest of heaven or you can simply call it the entrance of Kachora......did you notice, "Sudarshan" peeping behind

Anil's mother welcomed us promptly. Its was the most warm welcome I ever had.

Every where just apples & apples......different colors.......sorry dont have enough & proper vocabulary to describe them..........and the unique aroma floating around.........all I can say lost all the stress & tiredness in a moment

YES! count it if you can.......but dont count it as a tree, its a just tiny branch

This species of apples called Golden Apple

To be continued........

Not as yet - Kachora is not Harshil.
But wow! - haven't seen so many apples on trees anywhere in UA.

The Jadhs were actually brought down to this area by the govt because they had to leave their villages of Jadhang and Nelang (against their will) - "security".

Come on, that's what you're giving me?
In that case - Harshil PO is under Bhatwari PO. Therefore you saw the apples at Bhatwari.

Area north of Jadhganga river/Nilapani Gad - India sits there, China claims it. That leaves the Jadhs caught between a rock and a hard place, as it were . Therefore GOI evacuated them to 'safer' places.
