Gangotri in December
I'm seeing a lot of posts that say "Gangotri is closed in December". I'm assuming that refers to the temple there, correct, not the whole city? I also know the roads might be closed due to snow, but does that get cleared away? If the temples are closed is it worth it to go (will there even be any places to stay open)? Hope these aren't totally dumb questions, I would just be disappointed to miss it.
I think what I'm going to do is just play it by ear. I'm due to spend a few days in Rishikesh and wanted to go to Gangotri from there, so I guess if the roads are clear I might go, but if not stay in Rishikesh a few extra days. |
