The only way I know is you will need to go to Bowali where the office is located and request them to have it booked for a night. Booking is tentative - if any forest official is visiting killbury on that night, the booking may be cancelled. There is a chaukidar-cum-cook there who will be happy to look after you. But he would request you to bring vegitables along with you (or whatever you like to eat) and he will be happy to cook for you (off course you need to pay for his cooking.) He may/may not be able to bring the vegitables from Pangoot as he has to look after the FRH as well and hence this request. There is no market around FRH, one has to go to pangoot to buy vegitables. FRH is in the middle of forest and we hear that one can hear sound of even leopard (I have not stayed so cannot confirm this!!) in the night but it is safe provided you don't go out in the forest alone at night.
The rooms are nice/reasonably clean and comfortable and there are about 3-4 rooms.
Please understand that FRH is not for public. It is for forest officers.

Camping in Kumaon
Hi
I am planning a trip to kumaon region in August end. I dont want to stay in any hotel but want to carry my tent and supplies and want to camp in some secluded and beautiful areas (no problem if it is away from villages and towns). I am planning to go via kausani, bageswar, ranikhet and almora regions. is it possible to camp somewhere where I dont get in touch with lots of civilization? I like to be near rivers and lakes. Please advise.
Thanks
Bala

Thanks Delhiwala and Piyush..
I will be travelling on motorbike.. so I cant go to long distances from road (any motorable road will do :-) I understand the roads may not be great or even good). So these places suggested by you can be reached with a short trek?
Thanks a lot again..

Hopes for this weekend's getaway are fast disappearing as everything seems to be booked. Am not sure even if I find something whether it will be worth it with such crowds around! Both KMVN & GMVN guys hung up on me saying "ALL BOOKED"!!
Someone advised to try Kanvashram near Lansdowne which apparently will be less crowded and not over-booked. Would anyone know about this? Can you please share their contact details? I can't seem to find anything on Google

Or any other such destination devoid of huge crowds? Need some urgent help!!

Many thanks as always.
