Hi All,
Can anyone tell me the schedule of early morning transport from Haridwar to Rudraprayag. I need to go to Ukhimath, and therefore need to get off at Kund( I am told that a direct transport from Haridwar to Ukhimath is not available). Is there any early morning transport that is available to Kund? If not, I need to stop at Rudraprayag and avail a second transport from there to Kund.
Regards,
Sagarneel.

Early morning transport from Haridwar to Gaurikund

Hi All,
I would like to know, whether there are early morning buses /share jeeps /any other mode of transportation (around 4/4.30 a.m)from Hridwar to Gaurikund? I have a plan of leaving Delhi at night(probably by a bus from ISBT), reach Haridwar early morning, and then reach Deoria tal on the same day. If I dont get a cab/ bus to Gaurikund that early, I am ready to go for a break journey: Hardidwar-Rudraprayag-Kund-Ukhimuth- Sari-Deoria Tal. So, I would not mind even if I get a transport to Rudraprayag. rather than Gaurikund. I would, however, prefer a share jeep, rather than a bus, for the time advantage.
Thanks and regards,
Sagarneel.

You would defnitely find a transortation till Rudraprayag. If you want to start early, then check out for the Jeeps in Natraj Chowk in Rishikesh. These Jeep take newspapers to the hills and leave early morning without fail throughout the year.

This is still a yatra time and you may find Jeeps from Rudraprayag till Ukhimath. I didnt find any jeep to Gaurikund though. I somehow found a yatra bus in Gaurikund to go to Badrinath.

There are plenty of options to reach Gaurikund from Hardwar, especially in Yatra Season. If you don't get direct vehicle to Gaurikund, then go to Rudraprayag by a shared jeep. It takes 5 - 5.5 hours to reach Rudraprayag. From there you will get plenty of options to reach Gaurikund.

Happy Traveling!!

As Yatra season is going on, so rates will be a bit higher than normal. But still you can expect a decent accommodation in Rs. 500 to 1000.

Hey folks, I'd like to add to this same question.
Hardwar, or Rishikesh, which of the two would have a greater availability of these shared taxis?

The last time I'd gone, my group had a hassle finding any transport from Rishikesh, and ultimately (by a great stroke of luck) shared a jeep with a couple of other trekkers to Rudraprayag, but that had us quite late at Gaurikund (~7PM).

Buses are not an option as the locals and several tourists are often queuing up for hours, and are rudely aggressive about ensuring their seats. Buses also ply along with a crazy lethargy which is hateful.

Hello jyotipg,
I am planning to do panch kedar trek.i could find 2 routes, one starting from gaurikund to kedar, and the other starting from helang to kalpeshwar. From a religious point of view the trek is to done from west to east (kedar first and then madhmeshwar and so on).Is the view better if done from west to east? From a trekker's point of view where should the trek start? From helang (kalpeshwar) or gaurikund (kedar)?I have made my plan to start at helang.

Since you would be traveling from Delhi, it would be better to go to Rishikesh. Taxi stand for Rudraprayag is at Natraj Chowk (almost at the boundry of Rishikesh towards Dehradun).

Normally shared jeeps for Gaurikund are available till 5 PM from Rudraprayag. If not Gaurikund then try to reach Guptakashi and take early morning jeep for Gaurikund. Or else stay back at Rudraprayag and catch early morning (5:30 - 6 am) newspaper jeep for Gaurikund.

I don't think Jeeps are available till 5 pm.
They all start before 10:30 am.

New Delhi to Kedarnath and back

Hi everybody, I'm coming from Singapore to new Delhi to make a trip to kedarnath this month September. I've gone thru many sites, doing research about the transportations available from new Delhi to gaurikund. I'm on a short break, so I'm only planning on a straight trip and back.

I decided to use the route of new Delhi to haridwar to Rudrapayag to gaurikund.
If there is a newer, direct way, please do advise me.

What I like to know is, how frequent are the buses/jeep availability from gaurikund back to rudrapayag and so on?

could anyone share a recommended transportation services contact number as well?

Thanks. All your help is much appreciated.
