Does the DEHRADUN SHATABDI to Delhi usually run on time?

Even though I know it's crazy to leave a small window for train to plane connections, I can't help hoping that since this is a Shatabdi train it usually runs on schedule. It originates in Dehra Dun and gets to New Delhi at 22:45, and I have a flight out of Delhi at 02:35.

Can anyone who knows this train say whether it usually runs on time or is just as susceptible to delays as other Indian trains? By the way, this will be in mid-January so I realize there might be fog...

I assume you are taking an international flight at 2:35AM. If that is the case you should be at the airport around 11:30 PM which means you shouuld leave the raiway station at 10:45 PM, so theoretically it works out.
I travel regularly by Kalka-Delhi Shatabdi at it is always 20 to 30 minutes late. Platform congestion & now winter fog often cause delay. So you have a tight connection.

The Shatabdi's mostly run on time but the fog can play a big role. I was just reading in the paper today that foggy conditions in Delhi are going to start developing and worsening over the next couple of days now. This will be the build up to what we will live with for a while now...

But on the flip side, theres always a chance that the same thing would delay the departure time for your flight as well !!

In my experience, it's never reached Delhi after 11 pm. On account of that particular train having over 4 hours layover in Dehradun, so in-bound delays upto 3.5 hours are also easily made up.

U really don't need to be at the airport before 0.30 am. So that will give u plenty of time to get there. And puchoo's right about the fog - in both cases. If the train's late arriving due to fog, chances are alomost non-exixtent that your 2.30 flight will take off on time.

There is a Shatabdhi in the morning also. I'd take that one.
