delhi to munsiyari--quick info ???

Hi anyone can give me some quick info about

Delhi to Munsiyari --shortest route by road/detailed road guide
some good /cheap hotels in Munsiyari
I have been upto Choukori in Nov 05.
I will be off today night or tomorrow early morning in my car.
Is it safe to start at around 8pm from delhi and do the night driving to save time.

You're asking these questions much too late.

16:35 - asking question for info needed for evening departure.

16:45 is only 10 minutes later, you needed to ask these questions yesterday to give people a chance to reply.

I started from Delhi & follow this route :-N Delhi - Nainital - Lohaghat (via Ramgarh , Mukteswar ) - Pithiragarh - Munsiyari . Lodging wont be a problem sp. at this time of the year. Try KMVN GH . Beside that there are moderatly priced lodges available. You can try the Almora route . Weather will be cold no doubt. Can expect snow fall. There is nothing sp. to see . Just enjoy the nature at its best. Magnificient view of Panch-chulli Range. If interested in treking then go for shor treking.

u can take the night train from delhi to kathgodam. no need to go to nainital, it is not on the way. go straight to almora. from there to bageshwar. if u got the money, then u can take a atxi from almora to munsiyari. otherwise spend the night in bageshwar. next morning u can take a bus from bageshwar bus stop to munsiyari. it leaves at around 9:00 to 9:30 am. u will be in munsiyari in the evening.

oops, sorry. didnt read that u were taking ur own car.

then just follow the route = delhi, kathgodam, almora, thal, munsiyari. no need to go from almora to bageshwar. there is a shorter route to thal from almora, but buses dont go on it.

and as for staying, kmvn is the best i guess. the dorms r usually for 100 bucks/bed/night.

and do post pics of the snow when u come back

it snows in kausani n binsar. in binsar i heard it is for a long time due to the extremely thick tree cover. so the snow does not melt.

in munsiyari they told me that the snow stays for 2 or 3 months in december. anywyas, the surroundings will be full of snow and u can go n ski over there.

Snow conditions

For the last 3 days, the weather is very cold in the upper Himalayas. Rain and snow. Munsyari has a snow fall. and the road to Munsyari from Thal is blocked at Kalamuni. However the road via Jauljibi and Madkot is open.
lonelywanderer, Hope you are safe. Hope to hear from when you come back
