Delhi - Nainital - Binsar

I was trying to see if we could get to Manali, but my wife is pregnant (5 months) and I am now trying for Nainital/Binsar...seems much more readily accessible from Delhi.

1. I am thinking 2 days Nainital and 2 days Binsar. Personally I would have preferred all 4 at Binsar, but I think the people with me may prefer some 'city life' too. Can Binsar get 'dull' for some people ?

2. I am assuming that we take the overnight from Delhi to Ranikhet, and then onto Nainital via taxi ? How long will that take ? And How long from Nainital to Binsar ? Are the roads good ? Do people tend to sick (think pregnant wife).

3. We are spoilt and would like some luxury and nice food...are both these possible - especially at Binsar ?

4. Just as an aside, how long will take from Nainital to Rishikesh?

Thanks a ton,
Shiv

1. yes, binsar can get dull, if you are looking for city lights.
Else the sanctuary and the views are beautiful.

2. the overnight train is delhi/kathgodam, not ranikhet. you can
get down at haldwani half an hour before kathgodam and hire
a taxi there to nainital. Roads are good. If your wife has
a car sickness issue then she almost certainly will be sick,
else I don't know. You can halt frequently, though. Distance
to Nainital is around 40km, an hour and a half at slow speed.
Nainital to Binsar via Almora will be about 100km.. 4/5 hours
with a stop at Kainchi and a longer one at Almora should do
it. The road from Almora onto Binsar (30 odd km) may not be
as good as the rest.

3. check out club mahendra at binsar. there are others too. the
kmvn has the best views but no electricity and not much
luxury.

4. Not sure about exact distance Nainital-Rishikesh, but not
advisable with a pregnant wife. It will take most of the day
to drive there.

Hire a taxi from haldwani for the whle trp till ur back to kathgodam, nainital is too crowded, there drive to pangot via kilbury(15 km.) which is quite serene,In Binsar since your wife is pregnent so u shud stay in club mahindra which has better facilities. The views and walks are awesome from Binsar, try zero point and dhaulachina walk.
