A bit cold in the shadows in the day and bloody cold in the night. Try Monal guest house for accommodation there is a website and he has rooms starting at Rs 500, but as its off season I'm very sure he'll do you a package, and a nice place to stay as the owner knows all the trekking, simple to technical.

Well if yo uare very very luck only then, in the four years I have been here we haven't had a white Christmas. You may be in luck there is a big pooja that may be scheduled for around that time and you can see a lot of the local customs and culture if you care to.

its not risky, just need to drive carefully. there will be a heavy fog around narender nagar. if you are going on NH58 then be extra careful.

there is one more route. it is slightly lengthy but very nice. delhi-meerut-bijnor-nazibabad-haridwar-N.Nagar-chamba-uttarkashi. completely full of greens, with no traffic and nice road condition.

I won't suggest that route...Najibabad - Haridwar stretch is bad.
Best is to take Delhi - Ghaziabad - Muradnagar and from Muradnagar take the Canal Side road till Roorkee from where you can join the Delhi - Haridwar highway. There are no big vehicle on this canal road, so you can move fast. But avoid this route between 6 PM - 6 AM. From Haridwar it's usual route....

i came back 2 days back, and i found it in a nice condition. and i really enjoyed it. from haridwar to delhi i reached in 6 hrs with 3 stoppages. agree that the canal route is shorter. and the main NH58 is hell

Once I went to Kotdwara from Haridwar, then I took it, the road was broken in many parts.. Has it improved recently ? |
