Bottled Water availability
We will be doing our Char Dham tour during Oct.
Can someone tell me if bottled water available through out Char Dham circuit? Do we need to carry water bottles during Kedarnath trek? I know that there are few shops along the route; do they sell un-tempered water bottles? What brand name should I buy and how can I be certain that the bottles have not been tampered with? |

Yes ! Bottled water is available at Char Dham routes.
Bisleri, Aquafina & Kinley are good brands....

SKS,
Bottled water available all over. If your acco is in GMVN hotels, it is available there as well. Not an issue at all. Also, no concerns of tempering et al. BTW, given the likely weather conditions, you are likely to be better off with hot water rather than bottled water. ribhu |

ribhu95,
I know it will be cold but I am not sure how cold it might be!! Should I expect snow and ice during first two weeks of Oct? We are quite used to with the cold weather and hopefully will not be too bad. Sleeping in an ice cold bed might be a problem. I know that the hotels may not provide any hot water; we just have to get used with not having any shower... I can’t imagine how smelly we will become after few days. ![]() |

SKS,
What I meant was for drinking purposes. Most of the hotels do provide hot water for bathing....in many places rooms are fitted with geysers. Where they are not, you get hot water in buckets - it is either a part of the room tariff or for a nominal extra amount. If you are on GMVN rooms, then hot water for bathing should not be an issue. Nothing to worry. Under usual circumstances snow and ice is unlikely in Oct - atleast till Gangotri. ribhu |
