Hello SBPR,

You can still bargain since the rate quoted is higher. I was offered badrinath and kedarnath for 1800. I dont remember the name of tour operator as I was in a hurry to book tickets only for badrinath. but the travels office was 2mins walk from busstand towards hari ka pauri. the travels office comes in the right side.

Since it was my first time I choose yatra season. from next time I will plan to visit in september or october before diwali.
Yes...there are shortage of Jeeps during Yatra season but share jeeps are not booked in advance...

From my experience, I can say that September and October is the best time to visit...

Yatra season is a nightmare for peace loving people like us...
And monsoon is too boring as road blocks are very frequent...

Next time try to break up your journey by short distance share jeeps...they are easily available as local people avail these services...

If you have time to wait for buses and are not travelling along with family then its ok. But if you are with kids ladies and old persons then i must say book taxi. Travel agent charge Rs 2000 per day in case of INDIGO but it will be a hastle free journey.

Dear members, recently I had been to kedarnath and badrinath from 10.6.12 to 13.6.12. There are plenty of vehi8cle available. go for good bargain. do not be panic. The travel agents are selling seat in sumo/bolero/travellers at the rate of Rs. 1700/- per person for kedarnath and badrinath to be completed in 4/5 days. Pleanty of accomodation available every where.Food is very good and reasonable. There was no traffic jam during my tour.
