Badarinath-Kedarnath travel plan

Hello Everyone,

I'm living in Noida.I'm planning to take a vacation in last week of September and decided to go to Badrinath and Kedarnath pilgrimage trip.I've got 9 days with me(26th,Sep to 4th Oct) and I've planned to visit Badarinath first because during the later part of the journey,I've join my friend in or around Kedarnath.I'd really appreciate if you guys can schedule me a travel plan, because I'm a first timer to these part of our country and I'll be travelling alone. As it appears that I've lot of time, please also let me know about the places not known widely but worth watching.

Eagerly looking forward to your responses.

Best regards,
Jagadish

Better to travel by shared jeeps. They start from Rishikesh.

A relaxed plan is:

Go up to Rudraprayag then change for Joshimath. From Joshimath next day take one again for Badrinath.

Stay one day at Badrinath and enjoy Mana & surrounding area.

Return next day and stay at Chamoli. From Chamoli take a bus/jeep for Gaurikund next day.

From Gaurikund start for Kedarnath, stay.

Next day return to Gaurikund. Stay at Gaurikund

Next day Start for Srinagar. Stay at Srinagar.

Srinagar - Haridwar.

Construction work is going on at Auli, hence one should avoid Auli. Chopta/Chandrashila/Tungnath is a possibility.

Slight change in the schedule

Hi Delhiwala,

I googled somemore and got interested about Valley of Flowers and Hemkunt sahib and added them in my schedule.I 'm not sure whether spectember end is a right time for those places. Please advice. And for stay, if I prefer GVMN guest house then at max I can book online 3 days before. What if I want to book a guest house after 4th day,I'll already be in the journey. Is there any other alternative.I 've attached the modified schedule I prepared, Could you please go through and give your comments.

Thanks & Regards,
Jagadish

hi rajiv yes its a good time to go by bike -- only take care about warm cloths ,,ask him to keep some warm cloths with him because in badrinath and in kedarnath any time you can fine snow fall.. and route is good some part of joshimath to badrinath is not good but its manageble.

the route is very nice except some torn stretches at many places, due to late monsoon. time is also suitable. wont find much rush, its off season. let your cousin go.
