I think the mountain views will be amazing now, cvizi - how are they? Whenever I'm there it's always too hazy, and just on a rare day do I see them.

accomodation in Mussoorie

namasté,
first i would like to give you my apologies for my poor english...i hope i'll be better in Hindi!

i ll go to LLS in november/december and february/march...
after reading your numerous post, i decided to stay in Wolfsburn.
i speak with the owner 3times, and he looks very friendly, but he charged me 12500 Rs/month...
but in the new "lonely planet" they speak about 3 places really cheaper: hotel Broadway, Deep and Rockwood.

did someone now them? maybe some of them have room with kitchen?
and i now they are really more far than Wolfsburn, so is a bus could drive me to LLS?

i have a really small budget and finally i'm not sure than wolfsbrun is the best choice?...

thanks a lot for your help...

freenagaland - all those hotels are a long way from Landour, which is about 8km above Mussoorie. They actually are not cheaper - Divide 12,500 by 30 and you have a daily rate of just over 400 rupees. If you stay at these other places, you will have a 200rupee return taxi ride, or 100 if you want the long walk back.

Go through this thread - at the first page there is a summary list of places as well. You can try others to see if you can get cheaper, but they are all much of a muchness with monthly rates I think, in fact, many are more expensive.

thanks for your replay, very fast...

i have contacted hotel Deep and they charged me 250/day, but i discovered yesterday a blog of a french girl who stayed at Broadway, she walks 45 minutes every morning to the school...

i ll contact this hotel today...

another question...do you stay near Kalakar Colony in Jaisalmer?

To your last question re Jaisalmer - no I don't!

Bear in mind that the 45 mins walk is up some very steep uphills. Once you leave Kulri Bazaar, it is uphill all the way. If you are very fit, then I guess it will be good exercise for you! If you are prone to asthma, probably not such a good idea.

One further advantage with staying at cottages like Wolfsburn is that you have your own kitchen and can easily make your own food - or else have a woman do this for you. You are also in five minutes walk of a small group of shops (Char Dukan) where simple, homely meals are cheaply available.

However, it's entirely your choice, as we always say on these forums!

...in regard to Rokeby..good news is they will take lodgers from the language school and elsewhere next year - that is according to the language school. Still cant find a working email address however..so I guess it'll have to be phone..

...I'm going to Wolfsburn. On that I was hoping someone (Aishah?) out there has a mailing address for Professor Uniyal as I want to follow up my call with a letter..
