Have you got the Adobe Acrobat Reader? You need it to read .pdf files.

I'm using Adobe reader 7 and got straight to the 182-page report.

A quick glance (and I'm not even familiar with these areas) tells me you must make sure you read it, highly detailed and well presented.

There are dozens of these (mega) reports available on the net for different areas in India, I was going to do a thread about them a while ago, but didn't have the time.

Google is absolutely your friend when it comes to detailed local info, just google a village and search the results, it's amazing what can be found.

If you still have trouble getting the above page, I know a way of getting it on to a normal web page, but the result is a much uglier version, just let me know.

I just found the report via google and it didn't have the usual 'View as HTML' next to it, so unless someone knows another way, you'll have to use your adobe reader (or update the reader to 7).

Kewl!

That is one place to look for while venturing out in Uttark.

BTW Steve......you are quick at producing some real high resolution maps in trying to help someone looking for a remote place in the Himalayas(or anywhere)... where do you get those from? Tho not in need at the moment I have been wanting to know that since long...for future use.

Sorry, only just noticed this post.

I think you mean the maps from the following website....

http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/ams/india/

They are massive maps (not for dial-up) and they are old maps, but if you combine these with other maps they make a great combination.
