I'm no train expert but i think you would have to go via Delhi. There is an overnight train from Old Delhi to Kathgodam at around 11pm arriving at Kathgodam between 5-6am from here you can catch a bus to or there will be share-taxi touts at the station its about 1hr to 1hr 30min to Naini from here with some of the most amazing scenery in the Himalayas. Mathura is about 50 kms from Agra....

Train 5311 departs Mathura Jn station daily at 23:15 and gets to Lalkuan station at 08:25.

2A = Rs 567
FC = Rs 451 (While you can, you must.)
SL = Rs 154

This train will soon not run all the way to Mathura, as this line is slowly being closed for gauge conversion, a year ago it ran all the way to Agra, if you can, call Mathura station to double check.

(I've found availability till the 5th June, so it should be running till at least then.)

2. Weather condition will it be very bitter cold? or bearable.. ow bad from Delhi..

3. we have kid of 5 years old.. are there any kids stuff.. I hear some cable car.. zoo does it worth it?

4. How about jim corbert park on the way to nanital from Agra??

1) Overall the road condition is good.Never travelled from Agra but from Delhi the road is ok.
2) Nainital is too cold in winters but bearable.People from north India can bear the cold.In fact some times the weather is far better than Delhi.The fog conditions in Delhi make it worse.
3)Kids stuff is easily available.Rope way takes you to Snow view from where you can view the himalayas.
Never been to zoo, but IM members says its a worth visit.If I am not wrong the zoo is closed on monday..Please check
4)Jim Corbett park is nearlly 80-90kms from Nainital.

Thanks for the quick help.. may be this sounds stupid.

With temperature hovering around 5/6 C will Himalays range be visibile.. from Almora/Binsar?

Does only the night temperature dip.. or how its.. can you still enjoy the weather. as I see... lots of good.. picks from Almora/Binsar.

During winter the days are usually bright and cleaner in Nainital/Almora, much cleaner than in Delhi. And there is a good chance you will get to see the peaks.

My six years old son enjoyed horse riding also at view point. Zoo is unique-- Leopards, wolves, birds etc.
