Advice on Itinerary : Uttaranchal

Hi!
My 9 days leave is approved and I am planning a trip to some areas of Uttaranchal. please help me preparing the Itenerary for the same As i have never visited Uttaranchal except Haridwar
26 Sep to 3rd October:

26 Sep: Leave at 6am from Chandigarh to Rishikesh/Sri Nagar. Reach by 3PM.
Visit Rishikesh(if Stayed there).

27 Sep: Leave Rishikesh / SriNagar at 7am for Joshimath. Reach by 3pm. Night stay at Joshimath.

28 Sep: Visit to Nanda Devi National Park.

29 Sep: Visit Valley of Flowers

30 Sep: Visit to Badrinath and Mana Village(Vasundhara Fall)

I have some queries :

1. Is it possible to include Gaumukh, Gangotri and Kedarnath?
It will take 2days to come back to chandigarh. so i have to leave on 4.so that I can have some rest on sunday and join my office on Monday.

2. How is the climate now a days in these area?
3. Will it be cold and do I need to carry a rain coat and 2 pair of shoes because of rain?

4. Is it fine to Visit Valley of flowers at the end of September?
5. Are all of these can be travelled on bike (except Valley of flowers),I am going on bike.

in nine days you can do gaumukh+kedarnath+badrinath. but you will have to modify your current itinerary. since you are on bike, i may suggest;
day 1 chandigarh to uttarkashi
day2 uttarkashi to gangotri, trek upto bhojwasa
day3 bhojwasa to gaumukh and back to gangotri
day4 gangotri to gaurikund
day5 gaurikund to kedarnath and back to gaurikund ( hire pony)
day 6 gaurikund to joshimath
day 7 joshimath to badrinath, + man + vasudhara falls
day 8 badrinath to rishikesh
day 9 rishikesh to chandigarh
climate is a bit pleasant during day, cold at nights. can have one shoe for riding and another for trekking. can keep raincot, you never know weather. people do VOF in sept end. but less flowers are found
all route can be easily done on bike. hope to see you on 27th ahead uttarkashi.

Thanks Tilak2909 for the quick response.

Can you please suggest me the route to Uttarkashi from Chandigarh. Also the distances between the places in Itinerary.
I think I need entire day for valley of flowers but I am not able to identify it in the itinerary suggested.

How about visiting Nanda Devi National Park and how can I include it in my Itinerary as my Itinerary is all changed

you cannot include VOF in 9 days if you include gaumukh. for that reason VOF is not in itinerary. you need 3 more days for it

Thanks a lot dude.
Though I have planned the trip because of VoF only, but being the September end I should drop it for the next time.

It will be so kind if you could provide me any URL for getting the road map of these places

From Paonta sahib, where you could have lunch in the excellent Gurudwara - follow the canal, a few kms after the nature reserve at the barrage, taking a left for - i forgot the name - there's a GMVN there, from GMVN go through the colony, jointhe main road and right at the stone water channel, follow that to reach the old Yamunotri road to Mussoorie bridge, nice ride, then on to Barkot. Barkot via Rari top to Dharsu bend and left for Uttarkashi. At Rari top take a right behind the Temple into the forest to see old growth forest, go right into the forest a biit on foot to spot a view from this ridge across the Yamuna valley - spectacular!

Gone through delhibullriders.co.in and found it really exciting.
I will be alone as nobody got the 9 days’ break

Being a newbie in mountain biking world I am cautious about the travel.
I will really appreciate if you can provide me some tips/advice on what all things I must carry with me?

Tilak, I have dropped you a mail. please have a look.

I didn't realies you were cycling - Great, have done heaps myself and the route outlined above by Tilak & myself is a good one. It's Paonta Sahib to Dakpatar then as i said through the colony opposite the GMVN to reach the road, then right at the stone canal, which is about 3 mtrs wide, follow that up thru the mango tree plantation.

Why don't you consider as your time is on the short side, getting a bus or something to Paonta Sahib and starting from Dakpatar next morning nice and early. The flats of the road between Chandi & Paonta are after all not so much fun. You can stay the night in Uttarkashi with my wife and I if you would like, then we can talk biking etc? No need to book hotels at this time, easy to find accommodation and food etc. have you got water bottles on the bike, as climbing is thirsty work.

There is a great route from Nainbagh, which is after Mussoorie bridge - where the road down from Mussoorie meets Yamuna. Nainbagh to Chinyalisur is a very quiet route, and on a bike should be an excellent ride (but it means missing Yamunotri - anyway you can't ride all the way up to Yamunotri). What about a puncture repair outfit and some tyre levers - essential kit if you get a flat and don't forget there are very few cycles in the hills and thus few repairwallahs!

What bike is it and where did you buy it - You may not need an extra tube, still you will at some future stage so take it along if possible. A handpump for air, not those big things you stand on and push and pull....
