I do not understand what do mean place free from ugliness and noise, and at same time require electricity and shops.Dhabas are nothing great in maintaining inner ambiance or outer facade, i won't ay they are ugly but are still not neat spots in other wise clean atmosphere.
why is electricity required.
what do you want to eat in Dhaba, veg or Non veg meals.
shops for what pourpose. Any place for someone on a real economical budget for a few days?? Say a single person for 3 to 5 days on leisure tour...any ashram or such accommodation if you can suggest
I'm looking for long term stay options in Uttarkashi - minimum of 6 months. I'll be travelling with my dog and will probably initially stay at Monal Tourist Home for a week or so.
I'm basically looking for an independent house with some open space. Don't want to live in an apartment primarily because of my dog. Are such places available to rent, would 1 week in Uttarkashi be sufficient for me to scout for such a place?
Also, I have a Reliance NetConnect connection that I am hoping to use for Internet access while in Uttarkashi. Does Reliance have decent network coverage in Uttarkashi?
Thanks in advance

my interest coincides with the posters in this thread. I'm basically looking for a place to rent for 2 to 3 years in a relatively isolated place around uttarakhand. Just a clean place for living with fire for the winter will do nicely, with a place to cook. My budget very stretched is rs 2000/2500 per month and needless to say I'll be very happy shall that come down like an avalanche. Of course the best idea is to roam around for a few days and get a better idea as suggested by one member, however any such information before hand will assist in the making of an informed choice. Please educate me on the feasibility of a rental habitat with such basic requirements as i mentioned within a monthly budget of rs 2000 or so. If the place is to my liking I shall endeavor to making it a long term rental

I guess if you have been travelling with your dog and at that pace it's taking sometime to reach.. However if the dog was accompanying you then i suspect you would have reached by now - so what unexpected happened that interrupted this plan.
