10th anniversary trip in Dec 09- suggestions please

Hello IMers,

My husband and I want to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in Dec 09 by going somewhere we can enjoy nature at its quietest best, along with our infant daughter.

Any suggestions? We are a couple who will NOT want to shop or play video games or play loud music on a quiet mountain. In fact, we would love it if there are no shops, no traffic and just nature n us.

I would prefer to rent a bungalow or stay in hotel that has individual bungalows because I want a kitchenette to make food for my daughter. If such places are way too expensive, a quiet hotel would be good too.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

This depends on when in Dec is your anniversary. For large part most places in december first 3 weeks will fit your bill but the last week of december will be problem as many places will full with year-end revelers.

Pls keep in mind that in Dec end snow could be expected in higher reaches so you are better of sticking to safer options specially with an Infant

Thanks Spicetrekker. Our anniversary is 28th so year-end revelers will be an issue. Thanks for the tip about snowfall. I had (idiotic of me) not thought of that!

My three suggestions in Kumaon hills..

1. Bob's Place at Nathukhan
2. Abbot Mount Cottage, Abbot Mount
3. Kafal House, Pangot

Pangot is a good idea.

It may also be good to check out Gushaini. Himalayan Trout House has gotten multiple rave reviews from friends who went there!
