Hai People,
I am looking for 3 days of whilte water rafting / cum outbound activitiesi in October, 06, for a group of 20 /25 corporate executives in and around Rishikesh. Ideal if the camps have a small conference hall / make-shift conference hall to do a little bit of class room activities. We will have our own experts to debrief the adventure activities. Any information on costs, some seasoned camp comapnies would be appreciated. Tnx. --Arkz ======== |

I tried all those none of these guys above responded. Some others, I got the links thro web search, like Mercury, Leasure travels, Snowleapord and logout at work responded to my mail. I met all of them at Delhi and we are finalizing for a programme for about 200 people in batches. Some of the outfits I met are really professional with lots of experience in this kind of work. --Arkz --------- |

redchilliadventures
Im Irish and i have just returned from a trip to india and i came across red chilli adventures in Ladákh. They work in Resikesh most of the year though and I would highly recommend them. Arvind is the man in charge and he is an ace guy. They have some of the most experienced guides (not something you can say for alot of rafting companies)around and they are all great fun.
They are also totally eco friendly which is another plus for them! |

Hai India Mikers,
I had a blasting rafting trip last month from 11th to 26th at Shivpuri/Rishikesh / Biasi as part of a training proramme. I had to stay and co-ordinate about 250 people training in 10 batches through rafting, treking, rapling, absaining etc., it was one great experiece. All of us had a fentastic time, we did all the 10/11rapids and it was a lot of fun and learning. Will give a few highhights. We used 3 camps; Show Leopard, Mercury and Camp 5 elements, they are all located on the Ganges riverside spread in about 25 KMs and are really good in terms of facility, food and most of all safety. I have seen that many other operators take safety for granted and that can be fatel. During my stay there; a lady died on a rapid called cross fire when their raft flipped; reportedly small safety lapse!!!! Me and 4 of us had a flip and fell into a rapid; since our safety kayak and procedures were fool proof, we were taken out in 2 minutes. Just to indicate what can happen when safety takes a back seat. As far as treking, rappling and other adventure activities are concerned, the top operators are all good and take care to ensure safety and lots of fun. If anyone is interested in more details, I'd be glad to do that. --Arkz --------- |

Which Treking/Rafting Copmany?
Arkz - In the end, which company did you end up using for Rafting and/or Treking? How did it work out?
I am looking for companies in the area doing both Rafting and Treking for some groups of people also. I would like to have a company that owns there own equipment (doesn't subcontract), been in businss for a few years, and that others have had good experiences with. Any suggestions (beyond the ones posted above)? Any other kudos or problems for any of the companies posted above? thanks for everyone's help. |

As far as i know, most of the professional rafting activities are concentrated around rhishikesh in uttaranchal, in himalayas. none in gujrat or anywhere else in india except himalayan rivers.

Nowhere in Gujarat as the Wind Chario said.
The best place is shivpuri, Uttranchal and the best outfit there are Mercury and Snow Leopard, they have the best safety record in the river with least flips and no mortality in the last 10 years. Believe, me I've done a lot of research on this river before putting 500 of my people through the rapids for a trianing project. I've personally rafted the entire river from the Wall to Laxman Jula at least 50 times in 2 years, stayed almost 6 months there and clicked 10,000 pictures!!!! I can write a book on this stretch and almost did ![]() |
