To Chitrakoot
I have been travelling to the Himalayan regions for the last 2 years. Went to Dodital and again to Bebra Gate to stay for a few days. Exciting and magnificent mountain ranges and thick forest. Now I am planning to go to Chitrakoot as I have been told that it is a wonderful place with forests and rivers and a lot of mythology.I am not a religious person and my idea is to enjoy the wonderful beauty of nature. Can anybody tell me more about ChitrakootNarayanvee |

Chitrakoot between UP and MP is for me one of the most appealing sites in north India. Probably I can't take all the essence of the place as a religious site but you feel there something special. Is not very well connected with the rest of the country but if there is a will there is a way.
In my gallery in indiamike you can see some pictures of the place, unfortunatelly have lost the full gallery when my hard disk went off. All the best Jorge |

hi narayanvee,
I could not find much info about chitrakoot in the forum and i decided to take a risk and travel to chitrakoot in dec/jan. It is a very good place to visit especially sati anusuhya, gupta godavari, etc. It is advised not to venture in the night and recently a dreaded bandit was shoot dead in karvi(chitrakoot) M P tourist bungalows are good and jaipurisa dharmasal is really good and you have plenty of dhaba's for lunch/dinner. I will also try to post sum of my photo's about this place. |

Hi
I had visited the Jaipurisa Dharmasala at varanasi and the manager said all their dharmasala's are mainted well. But it is not a dharmasala as far the food and rooms tariff are concerned. Their tariff starts at 650/= double with common toilet and their deluxe rooms are around 1400/=. Their rooms are big, clean and neat and better than any 3 star hotel around godowlia. The waiter boy smiled and said in the name of dharmasala these people are running a hotel. Their lunch or dinner is priced at 75/= but it is neat, clean, tasty and hygenic. |
