Schools/ Child care/ AuPair for 5 year old-Varanasi, Lucknow areas
I am potentially going to be living in India for 6months in Spring 2011 to study/ do research. Whilst this is a ways away, I still need to have some idea of how one manages children when they are studying/ researching and possibly moving around. My son will be 5 and will have to start scchool in January in India. If this is not possible to start mid-year (for american living in India), I need to know whether there are reliable trustworthy child care helpers.
I really do not want a boarding school situation--it is expensive and my son has to stay with me since he will be too young to put into a boarding situation. Thank you! |

Yes. There are reliable child care helpers in India. The cost factor depends on where you want to live during your research. If you live in Tamilnadu or Kerala, the cost can be very cheap. You can get good baby sitters or care givers at moderate rates. Boarding schools are costly as you know.In varanasi or Lucknow the living cost is not much compared to Mumbai or Delhi. You can rent a Furnished apartment and that will serve your purpose.
