Rishikesh to Gangotri

Hi,
I am planning to go to Gangotri from Rishikesh on last week of June,May I reach to Gangotri by one day?How can I reach there?How much time will it take?Can anyone give me some information about the fare?Thanks in advance..

Expect some rains during your trip. How do you intend to travel? You may need a night halt at Uttarkashi.

In the last weekof June it will be rainy,One night halt is necessary even if you go by car If you start aroind 8 from Rishikesh by Car you can expect to reach Uttarkashi by 3-4 in the evening.It is a 3to 3.5 hrs travel from Uttarkashi to Gangotri

You can reach Gangotri from Rishikesh on the same day. However, by doing so, you will be gaining in altitude from about 600m to about 3000m in one day which may create acclimitisation problem. It is better to take a overnight halt at Uttarkashi or Helang before proceeding to Gangotri.
