If you look at this map you get an idea of the whole thing.

KB Is Krishna Balaram Mandir, which is ISKCON's centre (the Hare Krishnas), on this map Nr 1. It is way out to the left on this map. They did not get a place to build in old Vrindavan, they only got one in Raman Reti far from the old temples. The old town is way to the right, around Loi Bazar, that is also where you get inexpensive places to stay. Radha Gopinath is Number 15 on this map, behind Radha Raman. Indiadaph, contact the Pujaris at Radha Raman, they are extremely knowledgeable about Vrindavan and speak English very well. They also rent rooms.

Indian tourists who are eager to see things Western stay near ISKCON, but the real thing happens in the old town.

Arrow new numbers for Radha Gopinath Mandir

I just found out the new numbers for the Radha Gopinath Mandir in Vrindavan as follows:

Brij Mohan Goswami:08755125478
Mrs. Krishna Goswami:09927605539

Mr. Goswami told me that they expect a donation of Rs. 100 per day from guests. Only lunch consisting of rice, dal and vegetables can be provided. For breakfast and dinner the guests will have to either go out or else bring something to eat in their rooms. In winters, electric immersion rods will be provided to the guests for heating up water in buckets.

Kindly call before you go as the rooms may be full during the festive season. The Goswamis speak English, so communication is not a problem.
In spring hundreds of flowers; in autumn a harvest moon; In summer a refreshing breeze; in winter snow will accompany you.If useless things do not hang in your mind, any season is a good season for you.
Mumon, 13th century Zen master.

Hi ,
My parents will visit Vrindavan from March 5th to 10th this year.
I called Brij Mohan Goswami. He told me to call on 1st March again , he will arrange.
But I am a bit confused as he did not note down my name or he was not willing for any advance booking.

Moreover this year Holi is on 8 th March. So this is a prime time and by any chance if we miss Radha Gopinath Mandir accomodation , my parents will be in big trouble.

I need suggestions from Imikers who stayed in Radha Gopinath Mandir in Vrindavan.

How funny, my parents called Mrs. Goswami for me last night as my phone could not connect. She said something similar, however, took my name, age and the dates for Holi(said I was 'very young, we would love to have him stay') but said to call back in late February to simply 100% confirm. She said the rooms were very large, and usually shared between 5. Continuously said 'very basic, does he mind?'. Dad said her english was very good and the donation is completely up to you.

Can anyone confirm how close the Radha Gopinath Mandir is to Banke Bihari or Iskcon? Will they be within walking distance/ doable in a crowd of powder throwing enthusiasts?

Contact for Fogla Ashram

My parents want to visit Vrindavan from 22 Dec 12 to 3 Jan 13 and would like to stay in the Fogla Ashram.
I have been trying to find their contact to get an accommodation booking for almost a month and still have not been successful. :-(

I have tried ISKON but they require membership which my parents dont have.

Could you someone help me with this please.

Cannot help you to find contact details for this particular ashram, but I can tell you from recent experience that late December - early January is a very quiet (and very cold!) time in Vrindavan, there is plenty of accommodation available, your parents will have no problems finding something.

What do you mean by ISKCON requiring 'membership'? There is a guest house just behind the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan called MVT, they offer accommodation there for basically everybody who can afford the rates (it is quite expensive compared to other guest houses and ashrams in Vrindavan). Contact details: http://www.mvtindia.com/mvt.htm

There are also other 'upmarket' places popular with the older generation in Vrindavan, e.g. Ananda Krishna Van (http://anandakrishnavan.com/).

If you are looking for simple accommodation in an ashram, there is no need to book in advance for this time of the year, unless your parents will arrive late at night. During the day, they can just visit any ashram of their choice and ask if there is a room available.

For ISKON, i was told that the booking facility was available only for life-members which unfortunately my parents are not.
Called MVTindia but they are all booked, though the kind person at the reception gave me an alternate number to check at their other guest house.
Anyways, since my parents are reaching in the morning hours, i think as suggested by you, visiting any ashram of their choice and checking for accommodation is a feasible option.

Thank you very much for your response.
