New Year's Eve in Lucknow???

Hi everyone, I must admit, if I were planning my ideal itinerary and carefully considering the prospect of seeing in the new year somewhere I doubt it would be Lucknow.

Now, the city looks charming enough, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Lucknow. But what to do there on New Year's Eve, whilst between train trips, is a question I'm hoping a few IMers can help me to answer. I'm neither the nightclubbing nor raver type, although somewhere pleasant to celebrate the New year with my adult daughter would be very nice. It's our first trip together back to India since she was a child, so it would be something of a special occasion. Just a few drinks after dinner in a tourist-friendly place, preferably the place to stay as well, is what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You can check into a posh hotel such as the Clarks Awadh, the Taj Residency, Arif Castles...

Thank you for your reply Indizen. Yes, I think that would probably be the way to go. Just one more question, though, if you don't mind me asking. Which out of the three hotels would you recommend?
