Lucknow to Shravasti

To the best of my knowledge there is no direct bus from Lucknow to Shravasti. You will have to take a bus to Bahraich and then change for Balrampur. Shravasti is just before Balrampur.

There is also a bus which starts from Kanpur, halts at Lucknow and then goes on to Balrampur. There are two buses daily from Kanpur to Balrampur: at 7 a.m. (no. 6022) and at 3.pm. (no. 6024).

Since it is a rather long distance, it would make sense to take a train Lucknow-Gonda (express available), and then change there to a train Gonda-Balrampur, and take a tuk-tuk from there. Shravasti is less than 20 kms from Balrampur, direction Lucknow. The direct way Gonda-Shravasti is about 40 kms. Someone with the appropriate budget could get a taxi to go there. (Should not cost more than Rs 750, i.e. 80km x max Rs 9, probably less possible.)

@tulsi: thanks mate. So where will that bus to balarampur drop me? Whats the name of that place?how far shravasti is from there? And whats the mode of transport?
@atala: may be you've rationale but what i've seen is those express trains you get from lucknow to gonda are really too full to make yourself comfortable and maintain a touring spree. May be that meter gauge (if i'm rightly assuming) from gonda would be a different story. So i would opt for the bus route if i'm starting from lucknow... Dhanyabad :-)
