Lucknow Airport to City Bus stand and more

Hello Everyone .
I will be visiting Lucknow and Ayodhya. The Sticky thread about Lucknow is very helpful.
But I wish to know What is the easiest and Cheapest way to reach the Lucknow City Bus stand from the Airport ?
Do they have pre-paid Taxis or Autos ? If no How much should I pay to the Auto driver ?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

The airport is certainly far away from the main city. But if you walk down to the main road (not sure how long is the walk) there are buses plying on it.

Hope someone who knows more than me will come along.

Hi there are prepaid taxis at the airport and they will take you wherever you want to go. As far as I know, autos are not allowed unless you have specifically asked someone to come and receive you. The auto people take about Rs 150.

I will most probably take the prepaid taxi's. But walking out also seems like a good option if I do not have a lot of Luggage.

Far away? Excuses moi.

Its about 12km away from lucknow centre about 17ish from hazratganj. That's lesser than Delhi.

I guess I have pretty much all answers. Airport to City in a Pre-Paid Taxi. And bus from Charbagh Railway Station.

Im traveling from Mangalore to lucknow and want to get to basti from the lucknow airport.. can someone please let me know the easiest and safest way to get there..?? Im new to traveling in India so please give me even the little details..

Take a taxi to the Main bus stand and then get a bus for basti from there.

Is Basti a place in Lucknow or nearby or are we talking about the small town near Gorakhpur by the same name?

There is no place in Lucknow called Basti so I take it to mean Basti the small town in eastern UP.

yup.. its the town towards the east from lucknow near gorakhpur... I checked on google maps and its a little more than 3 hours by car.. I wanted to go by bus.. I was wondering if any one knew whether there would be buses going regularly from lucknow city to basti.. Im landing in lucknow airport at 4pm.. I would take a taxi to the city but have no booking for a bus ticket to basti..

Anyone know if I can just walk-in and get a bus..??

Buses leave very frequently for Basti from Lucknow practically one every hour or so.
