From Gurgaon to Lucknow By Car - Suggest

Hi,

I am planning to a trip to Lucknow from Gurgaon by Car, I hope no problems for me but confused a bit about best way to reach Lucknow.

Can any recent visitor suggest what will be the best road to take:

Delhi - Moradabaad - Barreily - Sitapur - Lucknow
or
Gurgaon - Palwal - Agra - Etawah - Kanpur - Lucknow

How is the road condition and suggesstions for trip?

Well, the first route is NH 24, which is generally good all the way, altho I haven't been further than Moradabad in recent times, and never past Bareilly.
From Gurgaon, u head towards the Nizamuddin Bridge and onto NH 24 Bypass, u don't need to go to Red Fort to take the NH 24 over the old iron bridge. The 2 roads meet outside of Ghaziabad (eastern end). But maybe u know all this anyway.

I don't know much about the second route, other than that it's NH 2 from Palwal to Kanpur and therefore should be good beyond Agra. I'm sure u know that it's very good upto Agra.

Avoid NH-24...the road to end of hapur bypass(all 4-laned) is good after that its pain with 4-laning going on and heavy truck traffic...the drive till moradabad will be back breaking and its 2 laned till moradabad bypass

as the bypass end 2 lane is okay but not worth...bareilly is confusing as there is no bypass...after that to shajahanpur to lucknow is 2laned but smooth....

IMO stick to NH-2 four laned all the way...latest news says that all the strech to kolkata will be 4-laned soon..(stuck up in jharkhand/bihar)..and rest is tolled 4-lane highway...
