Fatehpur Sikri

After visiting the Red Fort in Delhi, I drove down to Agra. Here is the first batch of photos pertaining to the majestic Fatehpur Sikri.
What was distinct was the building material itself- Sikri sandstone found locally.
Plus the architectural style was a fusion of islamic, hindu and jain styles. A notable influence to the style was from Bengal and Gujarat, i guess because the chief architect, Tuhir Das hailed from Bengal and much of the labour came from these 2 states
