Delhi-Agra-Haridwar-Rishikesh-Mussoorie trip advice requested.

Hello Friends,

I am totally new to this forum and stumbled upon while googling. We are a group of 14 (adult & kids). We are reaching New Delhi on 26th May.

We are planning to visit Agra (& Mathura), Haridwar, Rishikesh & Mussoorie. Can anyone advise best way out on the following issues :

1) whether to make Mussoorie base given the heat in Delhi.
2) Route to be followed.
3) Some local tips & must visit places info.
4) Dos & Donts

any piece of invaluable advise appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Vijay

your route should be--- delhi---agara--mathura--rishikesh--haridwar --mussoorie.--delhi-

or you can make base to mussoorie and cover rishikesh and haridwar from mussoorie if you willing to stay away from heat.

and visit ..local places in haridwar like--daksh prajapati temple and har ki pauri-
in rishikesh--visit-laxman jhula, ram jhula, swarg ashram,
in mussoorie--kampty fall--camel back, mall road, mussoorie lake.

and that time it will be hot here so keep carry water bottels with you and if possible carry umbrella also with you.

better idea book train from delhi to agra--then agra to haridwar- and then haridwar to delhi--

Thanks a ton vikramkyy. We are planning to hire a van (14 seater etc) from delhi to all the above destinations. Will that be a costly affair ?

yes it will be costly....for how many days are you planing to hire taxi/van ... will be easy if you plan by train ... because there is direct train from delhi to agra and agra to haridwar in van it will become uncomfortable.

that means you have only 5 days i guess you have from delhi around 4 p.m so u dont even have full 5 days.
so your plan should be--
day-1- delhi--agra (night stay)
day-2--agra--mathura-(over night journey for haridwar-)
day-3- visit local places around haridwar-
day-4--enjoy day trip to mussoorie- night stay or drive for delhi
day -5 catch your train --

If you are looking to cool of at Mussorie - I think you will be disappointed. During the day even Mussorie is hot and skin burns and it sweats a lot. Only evening will be pleasant and nights cooler.

Smile

Hi All,

I am new to this forum also and was wondering if anyone could guide me. Me and my family are travelling to India in August to Haridwaar, Rishikesh and Masoori. Could anyone suggest the best way to travel? There are 8 of us including an 86 year old my nani and children. The reason for our trip is to scatter ashes of our late brother-in-law. His children really wanted to see them scattered in a beautiful, peaceful place, can anyone suggest the best place?

We would then like to go to the hill station, can anyone tell us the best place around Haridwaar and Rishikesh?

Thank you so much for your time,

SP1
