Allahabad Bypass on NH2 Completed ?

Anybody has knowledge whether the Allahabad Bypass
on NH2 Kolkata - Delhi Route has been completed
and commissioned or Not ? which was in progress
last year , I want a confirmation please .

Yes, you will be glad to know the Allahabad bypass is now open to traffic. This May, I drove from Delhi to Kolkata and while it wasn't open at that time, when I returned on the 5th of July, I found that it had been opened.

For that matter, the entire stretch is now open except for local repair work and a couple of bridges being built in Jharkhand near Barhi. The diversions would sum up to a mere 10-15kms of the 1500km journey.

In fact, my daughter and I recorded all the tolls, diversions, kn readings on the way, but I never came around to posting my trip information or photos. Maybe, some day I will overcome my inertia.

So you don't have to drive through messy
old GT Road inside the City.
