I will prefer Nainital. At Nainital you can do boating on the lake, take a ropeway to the snow view point, go on a horse ride, visit Zoo & cave garden, plus you can go on excursions to different lakes situated around Nainital & also to Mukteshwar.
If interested can visit Corbett park also. Ronak.

You have added Kausani and 'others' in your poll. I am voting for 'others'. Binsar, Chaukori, Munsiyari, Chopta being some of them.

Oops, just noticed the 4 days. Scratch Chopta.
Hmm. 4 days in May/June, I would go for the Binsar/Ranikhet/Jageshwar area, and stay at the KMVN specially at Binsar. Book in advance though, holiday season and all. I would have added Kausani as an option, but last time I was there in May we were overrun by noisy tourists by the busload. ![]() |

Snow tends to need freezing temperatures in order to not melt!
For snow you will need to go on a high altitude trek, something I doubt you're interested in. You will need more time anyway than what you have. Other than that, Chakrata is a small hidden delight not far from Mussoorie. You can also visit Lakhamandal (of Mahabharat fame), either on the way or while you're there. All 3 hotels you mention in Muss are good, but: Shiva - parking problem. Green Castle - on the Mall, so 100 buck entry-fee every time you enter/re-enter. And a complete ban on vehicle movement in peak-season between 5.30 pm and 10.30 pm. Padmini Niwas - best off re parking and mall entry. It's situated on the hillside between the Mall and lower road. Vehicle entry from lower road, so avoids all the hassle with entry-fee and movement ban. Plus a minute's walk upwards and you're on the Mall. There is no establishment specialising in Garhwali food as such. Gujarati - yes, Bengali - yes, Punjabi - hoo boy! , fake Southie - yes, Tibetan - yes, but not local . I can only think of getting hold of some local dhaba-wala who'll be prepared to make a meal specially. |
