Cool Trip to binsar sanctuary

Hi guys,
i'm planning to visit Binsar in the last week of september and i require some information regarding the trip. The questions that i need to ask are:
1. weather conditions(rain etc.)
2. i have 5 days in hand,are they sufficient(including travelling from delhi)
3. what other options do we have in budget accomodation apart from KMVN guesthouse.
4. places worth visit nearby

any help would be gratly appreciated.

There's another hotel some 10 kms from the sanctuary, the name escapes me at the moment but it was pretty expensive around 2500rp a night!!

Binsar sanctuary is'nt that big so 5 days would probably be too long unless you really like solitude!! Perhaps you could stay in Kasar Devi or Pappersali which lie along the ridge between Almora and Binsar!! There are plenty shared jeeps shuttling between these two places, so it would be easy to commute to Binsar and still amke it back to a hotel at night! Kasar Devi is only about 16-17 Kms from Binsar.

Thge two places I mentioned are also quiet enough but there are a couple of restaurants and some other tourist to hang out with. The area is lovely in it's own right with great walks and lovely views out to the snowcaps!!

I also recommend a visit to Almora a pleasant down hill walk from Papersalli. The bazaar is great and traffic free.

Kausani is wonderful and will just be out of season I believe at the end of September, the views here are staggering and though small Kausani has everything you would want as a tourist, like hotels and restaurants!! Here's what I thought of the journey beyween Almora and Kausani! Bageshwar is also worth a visit, I believe for the temple complex, Ranhiket is another place to head to for the views, all are around 60-70 Kms from the Binsar area

Taras Guest House had OK rooms for 450 with Hot shower and wood stove, though the views on this side of the ridge are not as good as the other side it's really just a short walk to see the views of the the Nanda Devi range!!

Here's a guide to a few more!

Binsar is awesome..but I wouldnt recommend spending more than a night in Binsar. Stay at the KMVN hotel. Its a terrific location.
Kausani is good too. Again, I wouldnt stay more than a night or two here. Avoid the KMVN hotel in Kausani! While travelling between Kausani and Binsar, drive through Baijnath & Bageshwar. Its a longer route, but both these places are worth a visit. Nice temples and great scenery!

I was last in Chaukori in 1998 and the only place I saw to stay was the Government Rest House.

I personally thought there were better towns in Kumaon to visit. I remember there not being a lot of trees there. I was also there in May, and did not have a view of the peaks as there was to many clouds. So maybe in reality it's a beautiful place. I just couldn't see it!

By all accounts the peaks are what makes the place, sorry I haven't been there as yet but my mate in Almora swears it's one of the nicest places in the Kumaon!

I'm planning to check it out in May next year!
