Kausani-->Baijnath(20km) Baijnath --> Gwaldam(40km approx) It would take around 3 hrs. You can stop at Baijnath temples. En route there is temple called Kot KI Mai, that can also be visited. I have never been to Gwaldam, so no idea about Gwaldam. |

Gents, here are some distances:
Kausani-Baijnath - 16 km Baijnath-Gwaldam - 22 km Total 38 km. Will take about 75 mins by car. Good road and it's a scenic drive. Below Kausani itself there'll be the tea gardens on both sides. 4 km after Baijnath is Dangoli village where you cross the Gomti. Fruit orchards around; shortly therafter you start the climb to Gwaldam with forests on both sides. People go to Gwaldam for the views. There's a nature park of sorts with a large pond maintained by the Forest Dept. Also a small Buddhist temple. kmalik has written in his report about a short trek above Gwaldam. Malla Ramgarh to Mukteshwar is 25 km - max 1 hour by car. |

Yes that's true but you will find lesser no. of people at the zoo then at the lake or in the ropeway line.
But if you are visiting Nainital in off season then you find very few tourists, like I experienced in Feb '05. Ronak. |
