While coming back to Kathgodam from Almora via Shitla, Odakhan, Nathuakhan and Ramgarh last month, I found one road bifurcating at Nathuakhan on the right side. Wish to know where it goes. Does it join Kainchi-Almora road?

Yes, the map indicates it goes back to the highway, near Kakrighat. Altho the map also shows a 'break' or missing section of 3 km - I'm not too sure it's missing.

Hi everybody! Shyamal, Dilliwalla, Capt, Almoraboy, Ronak, shahronakm + many Others (in short the regular gang of trekking-thread-posters!) ...

I was just catching up on my considerable backlog of reading up on trekking posts .... and landed up here ... and learnt how how to do multi-quoting correctly (thanks to shyamal, dilliwala, capt).

Just trying and testing that out here for myself to see if it works for me ....

..... and also feeling "warm in the heart" to see one ksbluechip being mentioned as an expert trekker in the same breadth (line) with Sadanand (highlighted that in red too) ...

Best Wishes to all you guys ..... have a nice weekend.... drink some rum (yo! ho! ho! and a bottle of rum!!!) .... even if your portfolios got chopped a bit today in Dalal Street .... KS

We knew we could never be KSBluechip or Sadanand Kamath, we knew we did not have the expertise, knowledge and passion of Dilliwalla and Piyush, we knew we could not think of what Almoraboy did, we knew we could not give a first hand immediate information what Capt gives to every new thread, we wish we could give the smile and politeness what Ronak used to give in every post but we were confident that we would hit Munsyari next day.
More to come I hope you wish.

On multiquoting, click(in sequence) the white page with the black " (at the bottom right) on every relevant post.. and then, with the last such post, after clicking that ", click the 'quote' button next to it.

Usually works, though I have had problems once or twice.

Piyush & Ronak: Thanks for "passing" me on the test, while I went out to get my rum (vodka, actually).

And now after 2 rounds, am feeling warmer And In this *current" state, when I re-read Shyamal's post:

... I find it positively lyrical ... it sounds like poetry from deep-down a Bengali heart ... really!

Shyamal-da: I enjoyed your many posts here on this thread! And so, wish you many, many, more Himalyan Treks!

NEAR Kakrighat, bhaijan.
Take a look at your N&W map. Like I said there's a 'break' in the road, but the map detail is old, so maybe the road goes thru now.
The bifurcation is certainly there. I think there are some shops at the turn, don't remember exactly.

In Delhi, heading for Hardiwar later this morning

Piyush,

Sorry to break in this thread, but wanted to thank you all, we got into Delhi without any hitch on March 5th, been at Hotel Prince Polonia in PanjGanges since then, having good food, at a new restaurant we heard about Green Chilli, ate a bounty last night with much left over for later, on located nearby Raj Guru Road, opposite Roxy Hotel.

We are in Hardiwar tourist hotel next three days from tonight. We are able to be contacted at beths1313@aol.com. I just wanted to express our appreciation for the help that we received from many of you, and will check in from time to time with questions or latest info.

Anyway to all that have helped many thanks.

Love and all blessings,

Randi and Beth

I have one question..
If I want to go to Patal Bhuwneshwar from Chaukori, which route I will follow. 1) Chaukori--->Berinag-->Patal Bhuvneshwar or Chaukori--->Rai Agar-->Patal Bhuvneshwar...
Is there a bifurcation at Berinag???If yes then where the third road goes to(first towards Rai Agar,Almora and another towards Thal)
I know there is a road which goes to Gangolihat(patal bhuwneshwar) from Rai Agar, but not too sure about Berinag..

Hi Piyush,

Udiyari Bend-Berinag-Raiagar is one road - SH 3. The 3rd road from Berinag goes towards Koteshwar Cave, as per N&W map. Kachcha, by the looks of it.
