Question Rishikesh tour

I am new to this tribe so please help me out!!!

I am planning to visit rishikesh with my friends on coming July (around 10) we are planining to enjoy the adventure sports available there. If anyone tried white water rafting in rishikesh, please suggest us about the rates, the booking procedure and the last but not the least: Is white water rafting in July would be value for money or is it just going to be like a regular boat ride.

Please share your experience if any

Thanks

The rafting camps are at Shivpuri and further up, 15 km from Rishikesh. However, they are closed during the monsoon.

Its no good going anywhere during the monsoons in Northern INdia. The only option you're left with is Goa if you're really keen on doing water sports activities which would definitely be a little expensive than normal outing nearby Delhi.

If possible, plan out a holiday in September. White water Rafting starts in September mid I guess until June ever year. Thanks

Thanks for ur response!!

So in july the water sports would be up in Goa?? I heard they would be off in the monsoon time. If not let me know.

And let me know how to get to ladakh and if the rafting camp is pre-ordered or not... how many days would be minimum needed to atleast get the cream out of the rafting....

Thanks

That's what i thought too...but then, a couple of weeks back, I noticed that the rafters were out in full force at Shivpuri.

Anyway, to answer mitr's question, if you're looking for rafting in the monsoons, you can try the Kosi at Corbett. Corbett Park is of course closed during the monsoons, but rafting camps operate in the buffer zone. HAven't had a first hand experience myself, though.

Yes, and damn me if I didn't see rafting going on in the Yamuna at Yamuna Pul (Tehri Garhwal/Dehradun border) on Saturday! And another group from the same camp gone rock-climbing up the Chakrata road.
Far's I knew, the UA govt itself bans rafting in the monsoon. Or maybe it's effective July, and Sat was still June!
