Places to see in & around MUKTESHWAR ??

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to do a small trip with one of my friend. Possibly its one night and two days. We are going on motorcycle so please suggest places to visit in and around Mukteshwar.

I know of few places like chauli jaali, mukteshwar temple and some wonderful peaks in sight but is there anything some1 can suggest that we should not miss.

All suggestions are welcome

I agree with Binsar and Jageshwar! Though for a 1 night trip it's probably too much riding. Jageshwar is an awesome place 34 km. from Almora. It's in a valley full of ancient deodar trees with some really cool temples. Counted among the 12 Jyotirlingas, it is an important Shaivite pilgrim centre. Up above Jageshwar is Vriddh Jageshwar. It's on a ridge with awesome views of the himalayas. Another place close to Almora is Katarmal. It's below Almora by the river. you go to Kosi, where there is a gov. resthouse and walk up the mountain maybe 30-45 minutes and you come to these nice 800 year old sun temples. There are some awesome panoramas from there. But I think these places are probably too far from Mukteshwar!

hello mani,

how r u......gud to see u back on 2 wheels...

we went there in May this year, although it was a brief stopover but enjoyed the every bit of it.......from Mukteshwar we went to Kausani. we took a shortcut from mukteshwar to kausani and this 10-15 km shortcut was the one of the most enjoyble rides i've had on 2 wheels.........it was full of fun.....even after that it was heavenly ride till kausani...just full of beauty.....i found this Kumaon region entirely different from himachal..... U might try Mukteshwar to kausani, u won't regret it..

best of luck........

hope this will help u........http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/showthread.php?t=1632&highligh t=nainital

If you are going there again-check out what JYOTI suggested.
