Question Pithoragarh and Abbott Mount

Hi,

Can someone suggest if I should stay in Pithoragarh or Abbott Mount if I have 2 days time in Feb 06 (03 Feb and 04 Feb). I will be starting off from Kausani on 03 Feb early morning and would like to reach Kathgodam by 5th Feb afternoon.

Also, is it possible to visit these places from the other in a day?

Thanks,
Smita

time is too short

If you start from Kausani by your own vehicle early in the morning, it will take atleast 5 hours to reach Pithoragarh. And then onto abbot mount and then return trip on the next day to reach Kathgodam in the after noon will be very hectic for you.
So I suggest you go to Chaukori via Garur, Bageswar, and Kanda. Stay overnight in Chaukori. Go to Berinag next morning and then onwards to Kathgodam by afternoon. This will be a relaxing trip for you.
Pithoragarh is on the extreme east of Kumaon. And the views of the mountains are better from Chaukori and Berinag than from Pithgoragarh. Infact these places are closer to the snow peaks.

Thanks

Thanks Rajkumar.

What you say makes sense. Covering Pithoragarh and Abbott Mount in two days would be hectic. So I'm planning to stay at Chaukori instead, and leave for Abbott Mount via Berinag the next day. I will halt overnight at Abbott Mount or some nearby place like Lohaghat. Next morning I can start back for Kathgodam via Bhimtal.

Cheers,
Smita
