Nainital/Binsar or Shimla/Manali?
Hello friends.
i have got important suggestions earlier regarding Shimla & manali. i would like to know if shimla manali would be a better bet than nainital kausani ranikhet almora binsar during diwali, october last week. I would travel with my family, which includes my parents, 55+ age. do not want excessive travelling, but scenic beauty wise, would long for the best deal i have 7-8 days time. looks like booking needs to be done 2-3months in advance to avoid last minute inflation due to diwali holidays. please suggest.... |

Scenic beauty wise i would probably go in for Raniketh , Almora, Binsar etc...but in terms of stuff to do , or general masti opportunities during Diwali , Shimla and Manali would be a better bet.

Thanks.... does this kumaon trip needs a huge amount of travelling? although the places are 3-5 hrs apart, but to cover all in 7 days, will it be very hectic?
Is nainital as beutiful as kausani or binsar? Or the old world charm of manali should be more fascinating. I have been to kedarnath, badrinath, joshimath etc... any comparisions in terms of beauty with these places to mnali belt or nainital belt? |

Puchoo tell me one thing. I am asking this precisely bcoz u r from himachal.... do we get good mountain views from manali, or is it only valley of beas? apart from rohtang, is manali by itself a beautiful location? when i say mountain i mean snow capped.... ooty kodikanal etc doesnt fall in 'mountain' category 2 me
Hotels (like kumzam, HPTDC) in the mall road gives better views or hotels in the loghuts or hidamba devi road would be better? any specific suggestion for lodging in manali? |

I would suggest the Nainital , Binsar combo, for couple of reasons - If I have to go to a big hill stations -Nainital for me is tops and Shimla alongwith Ooty at the rock bottom.

without any doubt i would suggest nainital-binsar combo. Just b'coz binsar is one of the most beautiful place i have ever been to. You will get jungle along with panaromic view of himalayan ranges. Infact one of the best view u get from binsar of himalayan ranges. end october chances of gett'ng clear sky almost certain. Manali-shimla you can visit anytime. but mid oct-mid march is the best time for binsar. One recommendation munsiyari might be little far considering your time period. So instead of Munsiyari i would recommend corbett.Even for that matter you can keep Corbett-Nainital-Binsar or Nainital-binsar-corbett or whatever way you want to start which suits you and the travel.

Thanks for these
Given a choice, is it worth to skip kausani altogether to accomodate both Munsiyari & Binsar? In this way i can manage the trip in 7 days hopefully ![]() |

Yes, it is worthwhile to skip Kausani for those two.

You might want to make a quick stop in Jageshwar if you have the time. It's well worthwhile.
