Hi,

It was a family trip and my itinerary was like this:28th Sep – Doon Exp from Howrah station at 8.35 pm. 29th Sep – Train 30th Sep – Hardware. 1st Oct – Uttarkashi. 2nd Oct – Gangotri > Sorry forgot the name of the place (6 KM before Uttarkashi) 3rd Oct – Rudraprayag. 4th Oct – Kedarnath via Triyugi Narayan and Gaurikund. 5th Oct – Ukhimath. 6th Oct – Badrinath via Chopta, Tunganath. 7th Oct – Srinagar. 8th Oct – Hardwar. 9th Oct – Train for Varanasi from Hardwar. 10th Oct – Varanasi. 11th Oct – Varanasi. 12th Oct – Train for Howrah from Varanasi. 13th Oct – Back to Kolkata. There are some photographs I’ve just uploaded on the web and the link is: http://www.ringo.com/photos/album.html?albumId=40581068 (hope the URL is working ).I am expecting another roll from the photo lab very soon and that will also be uploaded. Till then scar me for ruining these beautiful places.Cheers, Somnath

I am really very sorry.
Hi,
Nick you are rite. I am sorry I didn’t check that one . Actually only ringo members can access that link. But there is always a backdoor: No need to register. 1. plz visit http://www.ringo.com/ 2. On the right bottom corner of the page there is a text box “Find a friend:” – pz write – “somnath k” and click on ‘Go’. “Hardwar and around, 2006” contains the latest photographs. - Somnath Last edited by somnath : Oct 17th, 2006 at 17:41. |

that river/stream in 'Mana' is nice! but Somnath, so much to view your fotos... Ringo is not that appealing....try Picasa. You can directly upload the snaps from your system in a bulk. And moreover its viewer-friendly. Just drop a link like this and you are thru...
I usually go for slideshows of any shared album. Its easier than clicking...Ringo does not have a slideshow..i did not notice any...Even flickr is better...can be linked with your yahoo id if u have one. btw amazing snaps! big clouds and blue sky and of course the snow capped Hims.... awesome!

Thank you Luckywoman, this is the magic of Himalaya !!!! Weather was really very good there.
Amyl, thanks for the visit. Yeah Ringo is not that much friendly for public photos but they allow unlimited space and also allow 4 mb picture size. As I use to upload scanned images and not that comfortable with photo editors it really helps. And flickr has also the limitation of monthly upload quota for free membership so just using ringo. But Picasa sounds better, Amyl. Could you plz tell me about the maximum space allowed or pic size? Capt. I didn’t visit Rudraprayag during late Nov but my experience in October says it shouldn’t be less than 7-8 degree C. Because we kept our ceiling fan on there (even the air cooler in our room was in working condition ). |

Ringo is good only for space i must say
.Picasa max space per account is 250MB so about more than 400 pix of desktop viewable size. And about foto resizing try IrfanView. Its fairly easy. Learn its language and its easier. It undetstands something like "Ctrl-R Alt-1 ENTER S Alt-S" to resize the opened image, resize it to 1024 and save to a directory ![]() and uploading scores of 4MB pix clearly shows u have a very good internet connection . But wondering if you will want to share 4MB images if u get ur hands on resizing.scanning!! O such a tedious thing. Its time to go Digital, Somnath! ![]() |

![]() u will have to a make a trivial change in the setting to include the directories where u have kept ur fotos. U can of course add new folders to it but they will be created by default in "My Pictures" if u using Windows (Hey i just found out its available even for Linux....good news!). So u will have to direct it well. |

I went to Tungnath in May this year just before the temple opened. Your photos brought back a lot of memories. I'm not a spiritual person but I learnt a lot in india and I shall certainly not forget places like this.
