Sorry for replying late..The Moradabad...Tanda..Dariyal..Ba jpur..Kaladhungi road is in excellent condition, except for a small part, a bridge is under construction, otherwise its excellent, its the shortest route to reach Nainital.

Wow! That's good news!
It was SO bad 4 years ago, that I swore I wud never use it again.
Seems that even in UP things have improved in the last year or two.
Had 2 nice surprises in the western part recently.

What about Kaladhungi-Nainital? That had a few holes earlier.

Kaladhungi -- Nainital is as good as Haldwani Nainital.
very less traffic and in good conditions...slightly less wider than Haldwani - Nainital route

cool, so you also tried khalia trek. it is now becoming a very popular destination
i think they might make some shelters for trekkers in a few years..hope it does not spoil the beauty of that place.

are yaar, you should have tried it then...it would have been the best time tio check it out. see, the bugyals (meadows) start about 4 kms after you leave the main road. and the views from there are just toooo good. and it is not a tough climb. you could even have tried to take a pair of skis - just to add to the fun

Another reason for not going there was.....I planned to go Khaliya Top at around 10:30am ,I was told that it wont be possible for me to come back at around 6-7pm(because of heavy sonw).and there were no jeeps going towards the top..towards Kalamuni...I really wanted to go there...surely will visit in my next trip to Munsyari....

They are planning to start a ropeway service right upto Khalia top to popularize skiing , go there before it loses its tranquility.
