Info on Lansdowne?

Hello,
Info on Lansdowne seems pretty scarce in guidebooks and on the web. I became interested in going there after reading a few recommendations here, so I assume those same people, if they are about, may be able to provide a little info. Firstly, how would you get there (other than by taxi) from Nainital and how would you get to Haridwar from there? It is apparently a little higher and colder than other hill stations - will it be accessible/pleasant in late November? Are there a few budget options in terms of accommodation etc? What recommends it?
Thanks.

I was planning to go there last year, but in the end couldn’t make it. Couple of my friends went to Lansdowne in May this year on their motorcycles, here is their trip log http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=59

Lansdowne is quite near to delhi, about 233 km.,if you go via delhi-moroadabad-najibabad-kotdwar-lansdowne.A night train goes upto kotdwar which is 2 hours drive from lansdowne.Accomodation is quite basic,it will be better to get prior reservations in GMVN guesthouse.

The Versa will make it up fine.
By train, you can get off at Najibabad also. Then hop on the first thing to Kotdwara. Change here for Lansdowne.
